Welcome

Our Mission is to make the world a better place, by providing the highest quality of health care possible using the most current and advanced cardiology techniques.

The Athens Heart Center was established in 1995 and moved to its current location on Prince Avenue, Athens, Georgia in November 1999. This modern facility has 7600 square feet and a staff of 15. The center draws patients from a 75-mile radius and provides consulting services and diagnostic testing for other physicians in the area.

Our goal is to develop a new means of communication in medicine as well as teaching the primary care physicians. This practice has a learning center that provides teaching to primary care physicians and support staff in the field of cardiovascular medicine. We do this by regular viewing of satellite trainings and broadcasts and conducting interactive training in our state of the art training area.

Over the past few years we hope that we have developed a leadership in Cardiovascular Medicine in Northeast Georgia and have provided service to physicians to improve their ability to provide effective evidence based medicine to their patients in a new electronic environment. We hope that we will continue to be able to connect our practice with referring physicians through Internet technology. We believe this will help us to deliver cost effective medicine and provide us with feedback data to implement a continuous quality improvement system.

From the Heart
Fill up on fiber.
Not only does fiber help lower levels of LDL ("bad") cholesterol, it can aid weight management. Being overweight raises your risk of heart failure by a third, while being obese doubles it. While two-thirds of Americans are too heavy, only half get enough fiber.
