Subodh K. Agrawal, M.D.
Dr. Subodh K. Agrawal is an Interventional Cardiologist with an
established practice in Athens, Georgia. Athens Heart Center is presently
comprised of two cardiologists. The practice is limited to Cardiology.
Dr. Agrawal was born in India and finished medical school in India
in 1977. Since then he has visited several parts of the world to expand
his education. In 1984 he started an Internal Medicine residency at
Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and finished in 1987. Afterwards
he completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Emory University. He finished
his formal education by completing an Interventional Cardiology fellowship
at the University of Alabama from 1990 to 1992. Dr. Agrawal has been
published extensively in peer review journals and is well known and
recognized in private practice as well as in the medical communities.
The Athens Heart Center was established in 1995 and moved to a
new location on Prince Avenue, Athens, Georgia in November 1999. This
new facility has 7600 square feet and a staff of 15. The practice
draws patients from a 75-mile radius and provides consulting services
and diagnostic testing for other physicians in the area.
Our goal is to develop a new means of communication in medicine
as well as teaching the primary care physicians. This practice has
a learning center that provides teaching to primary care physicians
and support staff in the field of cardiovascular medicine. We do this
by regular viewing of satellite trainings and broadcasts and conducting
interactive training in our state of the art training area.
In the next few years we hope that we will develop a leadership
in Cardiovascular Medicine in Northeast Georgia and provide service
to physicians to improve their ability to provide effective evidence
based medicine to their patients in a new electronic environment.
We hope that we will be able to connect our practice with referring
physicians through Internet technology. We this will help us to deliver
cost effective medicine and provide us with feedback data to implement
a continuous quality improvement system.
